Dr. Richard Price
Dr. Richard Price is an empathetic and compassionate social engineer. He is an ordained minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ and has served non-denominational congregations rooted in the Christian Restoration tradition in the following locations; Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and New York. He is an experienced professor, who taught at the College of New Rochelle Brooklyn and Harlem campuses in areas of social science. From 2018-2022, he served as the chaplain of Tupelo Christian Preparatory School in Belden, Mississippi.
He has a passion for learning and his educational background includes the following: a Bachelor of Arts in History from Livingstone College; a Master of Arts in American History from St. John’s University; as well as a Master of Religious Leadership and Administration and a Doctor of Ministry from New York Theological Seminary. His dissertation was Re-examining Early Prophetic African American Voices in The Church of Christ: A Best Practice Model for Community Engagement.

Dr. Price currently is in his fifth term as the chairman of the Mayor’s Outreach Taskforce, which is an appointed official liaison between citizens, city officials, and law enforcement agencies. He holds membership and board appointments in many notable organizational boards locally and nationally and has received several public awards proclamations and recognition for his service.
Some of these include being a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity; the National Urban League, Leaders in the Movement award; the Lee County UNCF Leadership award; the Livingstone College Presidential Award of Distinction; the Tupelo Extra Mile Hero award. New York Theological Seminary Rising Young Alumni Award. Most recently the Mayor of Tupelo, Todd Jordan, proclaimed May 29, 2022, as “Dr. Richard Price Day” for his advocacy and Leadership throughout the community.
Dr. Price’s calling in life is to model ethical and moral faith-based leadership for the edification of all humanity. He is often invited to preach and lecture in distinguished pulpits and Universities nationally and internationally. At present, he is working on an academic publication that examines the relationship between the formations of faith and advocacy. He enjoys spending time with his family; he is married and has one daughter.
Dr. Price is the Dean of Chapel at Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia, and the Senior Minister of The North Green Street Church of Christ in Tupelo, Mississippi where he has served for the past sixyears.
